The earliest record for Methodist services in Beauregard is 1858.  Reverend Benjamin Jones, the first pastor of record was appointed.  The earliest building stood on or near the present site of St. Peter Rock Baptist.  The building was destroyed by the tornado.  The earliest parsonage was bought or built in 1878.

The present church was erected in 1884 and opened for services on December 14, 1884.  The new church was paid for and also dedicated on the same day.  The present santuary has been remodeled over the years.

In 1887, under the direction of Reverend T.H. Mellen, pastor, the greatest revival in our church's history was held.  Fifty-six (56) people were converted and baptized, twenty three (23) joined the church, nine (9) infants were baptizd, Miss Clara Crisman, whose picture hangs in the foyer, was one who answered the call to missions.  Her father was president of Whiteworth College at that time.  She was on her way to New York to join the mission field only to be drowned in the Johnstown, Pennsylvania flood.

The Church over the years has been connected with other churches as part of several charges or circuits, as it was called in older days.  We were a part of the Martinsville Citcuit, connected with Wesson for a number of years, and were served by a pastor from Gallman for one year.  Later, Beauregard, Matthews Chapel, Thompson Chapel and North Union were joined together as a circuit.  Thompson Chapel and North Union ceased to exist, leaving Beauregard and Matthews Chapel up until a few years ago when Matthews Chapel decided to close.

Our present pastor is Carl Smith, who with his wife, Malisia and son Garrett, lives in Brookhaven and faithfully serves Beauregard United Methodist Church.
