Beauregard Mission Group
Lynn Lusk is our current Mission Leader at Beauregard. She is diligent in searching for people and communites in need where our mission group can assist. Below is a list of some of our trips and activites we have participated in.
Katrina Coast Trip - Mission Trip to Pearlington MS in December 2005-distributed the donation of Walmart gift cards, blankets, jackets & sweaters to residents in Pearlington on a random basis as the spirit led.
Local Katrina Aid-clothes collection for (10) ten families and collected donations and purchased school supplies for (3) three different school districts.
Continuing Katrina Assistance-Mission Trip to the Coast in September 2007-worked on two houses to get them ready for a family to move in and also worked on the grounds of the Untied Methodist Recovery Center in Waveland, MS.
Kairos Prision Ministry-Christmas Boxes - collected personal hygiene items along with candy and socks and other miscellaneous items for prisoners to have on Christmas morning.
Disaster Relief Flood Buckets - collection and distribution of numerous cleaning supplies, laudry detergent-gloves and etc., for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Disaster Relief Health Kits - collection and distribution of personal hygiene items, towels, wash cloths, band-aids and etc., for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Water Well Ministry-raised money to participate in the water well ministry in Pearlington, MS to provide approximately (10) ten new wells for Katrina victims on the coast.
Hattiesburg Mission Trip-due to the damage from Hurricane Katrina our mission group assisted with the clean up of a United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg, MS.
Fundraiser for Various Mission Projects
1. Donations to a childrens home in Jackson, MS.
2. Donations to the Dickerson Place in Brookhaven, MS.
3. Isaiah House in Jackson, MS - provided underwear and socks for the homeless during winter.
Care Packages for Military- (5) five boxes sent to our military soilders in Iraq containing personal hygiene items as well as other items they don't have access to.
Cool Tie Ministry - participated in acquiring cool ties sent to our military in Iraq. Cool ties are filled with a a special kind of gell that when water is applied the gell swells and helps the soilder to stay cool for hours. The ties are kept in a cooler until used and a soilder can wrap it around their neck in order to stay cool due to the high temperatures in Iraq.
Mattresses for Camp Wesley Pines-raised money to purchase new mattresess for Camp Wesley Pines in Gallman, MS which were desperately needed.
There have been other Mission Projects within our own church as well as helping with a need when it arises.
